What are the benefits of remaining in the TAG program in high school? Taking a TAG option every semester shows that TAG students are seeking enrichment. When applying for scholarships and for college, students need to show that they took advantage of the enrichment opportunities offered to TAG students. A competitive college does not like to see that a TAG student did not take advantage of TAG opportunities. For every semester, TAG students' participation in TAG options appears on their transcript as "credit" or "no credit". At Cambridge, we strive to offer a wide range of TAG options that are fun and relevent to students' needs. Does TAG appear on the HS transcript? Passing a TAG option appears as "CR" (credit) or "NC" (no credit) next to "Gifted Participation" on a student's transcript for each semester. Some TAG options have numeric grades and others are pass or fail.
Do TAG students need to take TAG every semester? Yes, students need to take and pass a TAG option every semester to remain in good standing.
Can students take 2 TAG seminars one semester and none the next semester? While students can participate in more than one of the TAG options each semester, they must take and pass at least one each semester.
What should a student do if he or she is registered for a TAG seminar but has to make up tests or get help in another subject during that time? TAG students must attend their TAG seminars on the scheduled day in order to receive credit. If a student checks out early due to an excused absence, please communicate to your TAG teacher. A student's other teachers, no matter how important the reason is, cannot excuse students from TAG seminars.
